Said Slash: “Chris was great. Promise was probably the most unorthodox piece of music that I’d written, it was very different. It was one of those things, I don’t know why I thought of him for that song more than any of the others, but I sent it to him and within 48 hours he sent me this great lyric and we were off and running. it was as simple as that. Everybody seems to like this one.”
Cornell wrote the lyrics, Slash the music.

ReplyDeleteChris is a genius. Sometimes you hear a song accidentaly, and it gets stucked in your mind, and you feel it begins to mean something for you, this song is kind that. Perfect.

Replace "eyes" with "light" and then replace what is currently "light" with "life" and you'll be just about golden. Most places say eyes and light, but the booklet in the album uses that line as an excerpt and it says light and life.
